What do you do day-to-day as an IT Administrator?

I am getting ready to create several short screencasts on Windows Server 2008 R2 that talk about the benefits to administrators with R2.  There are quite a few.  I want to create a list of stuff you do everyday, so I can focus the screencast topics.  I think I have a pretty good list, but let me know if I am off the mark.  My list of topics is below.

So I have three questions for all of you and please email me any suggestions or comment

  • What did I miss?image
  • What topics do you most want to see?
  • Any topics you want to change or delete?

  • Installing and upgrading to Windows Server 2008R2
  • Adding server roles and functionality
  • Powershell common administrative tasks
  • User and Group maintenance
  • Directory Management and Replication
  • Group Policy
  • Folder Security, Access and Replication
  • Security auditing
  • Printers setup and configuration
  • Backup and Recovery
  • Disk management and storage
  • Web server and maintenance
  • Troubleshooting:
    • DNS
    • IP
    • DHCP Configuration
  • Managing Server Remote Access
  • Maintaining your Virtual Servers
  • Performance tuning and monitoring
  • Installing and configuring new hardware and software
