Book of the Month April 2008: Ma! There's Nothing to Do Here!

ma Good morning everyone welcome to another edition of the Book of the month club, where I review a great little book.  Before I go any further this is not an belated April's fool joke, I really am reviewing this book.  Now I know this is not my traditional book but:  Ma! There's Nothing to Do Here!: A Word from Your Baby-in-Waiting by Barbara Park , Viviana Garofoli (Illustrator) is simply a fantastic book!

The book is a very timely book for me and my family, for those of you who do not know Deb and I are expecting are 3rd child any day now (official date is April 21st).  By the way Deb, in case you forgot you are beautiful!  The book takes you through the trials of a child waiting it out for 9 months in utero. As this rhyming tale illustrates there is not a lot to do for a child during those nine months except the bungee cord (a.k.a. the umbilical cord).

I highly recommend this book for anybody you know who is going to be a mother to be.  The book is a fun quick read, and I even recommend it if you have children as well.  It was fun to hear about how my kids enjoyed the book.  So if you need a baby shower gift, aside from diapers this is a Great Book!  By the way if the author's name looks familiar she is also the creator of the Junie B. Jones series.  Which is another great series for young readers!

So if you have read this book or are in a book store take a look and please comment.

Have a great day!
