Q: What are the different versions of Windows Vista and what are the differences?
A: There are 5 different versions that will be available to all customers, Windows Vista Home Basic, Windows Vista Home Premium, Windows Vista Business, Windows Vista Enterprise, and Windows Vista Ultimate. Q: When does Windows Vista Enterprise release?
A: Enterprise should be available by the end of the month if it is not available today. I was unable to find any information about the topic. However, I do know Windows Vista Enterprise is available only to Volume License customers who have PCs covered by Microsoft Software Assurance. I would recommend contacting your account executive to get exact dates and costs.
Q: How are login scripts distributed via group policy effected in Windows Vista?
A: I have had this question come up a few times. What happens is with some login scripts you run into the User Account Control (UAC). You can get around this by using the launchapp.wsf….take a look here: https://technet2.microsoft.com/WindowsVista/en/library/5ae8da2a-878e-48db-a3c1-4be6ac7cf7631033.mspx?mfr=true . The launchapp.wsf script works by postponing the running of the logon script until the logon process is completed.
Q: What are compatibility considerations with Access 2000 to Access 2007?
A: Access 2007 supports the Access 2000 .mdb file format in most cases, you only need to install Access 2007 and open your Access 2000 databases. Then you can then use the database as you would use an Access 2007 database. However, Access 2007 includes many new and useful features (such as attachments and multi-valued fields) that require the new .accdb file format, so you should use the new file format whenever possible. If you continue to use the .mdb file format, you cannot take advantage of those new features. Q: How is Cisco working with the Unified messaging role in Exchange 2007 server?
A: There looks like there is some great already being done for Cisco Call Manager versions 4.1 and 5.1. There is some preview configuration PBX data up on the site. Take a look here for information:
Q: How do you extend the hub transport to support anti-spam?
A: By default the edge is the only roll to have anti-spam. However, you can run a command shell script "install-antispamagents.ps1" This will install all the agents on the hubtransport so you can configure the anti-spam features. Q: What are the main differences between Exchange 2007 Standard and Exchange 2007 Enterprise?
A: There are a few differences between standard and enterprise. For example standard can 5 unlimited stores while enterprise can have 50 unlimited stores. Enterprise also has support for log shipping via local continuous replication and clustered continuous replication. Q: Can you change the default message on over the limit mailboxes?

Q: Can you use variables to configure disclaimer messages i.e. have a consistent signature?
A: Yes, you can. You will need to configure the disclaimer via the command shell to accomplish. Q: Is there an adminpak.msi for Windows Vista?
A: You can install the adminpak on Windows Vista, however you will have to follow this KB to make it work: https://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/930056
Q: Is there a migration path from GroupWise to Exchange 2007?
A: Unfortunately I do not believe there is are any tools built in to assist with the migration. The GroupWise connector is no longer supported in Exchange 2007. One way to work with that is to migrate the email via the connector to Exchange 2003, then migrate 2003 to Exchange 2007. There are several partners that can help with this resource. Q: Where can I find migration guidance for Lotus Notes to Exchange 2007?

The biggest challenge in a Notes Migration is going to be applications and databases. Make sure you do some analysis of your applications before migrating. Q: How does ForeFront integrate with Small Business Server (SBS)?
A: I was not able to find anything that would allow an install the server on the SBS server. However, I did find some successful references to installing ForeFront on a separate server and deploy it as a you would in a single server environment.

Q: What client OS’ will the ForeFront client run on, can ForeFront be implemented in a heterogeneous environment?
A: The ForeFront client is designed for the Microsoft Operating Systems. Unfortunately there is no native support for the heterogeneous systems. So we rely on our extensive partner ecosystem whose members develop numerous products to protect other operating systems, as well as applications like Oracle and SAP. In keeping with our belief that the major customer challenges are in the areas of integration and management, Microsoft is driving our partners to integrate with Microsoft-based infrastructure products such as Active Directory, MOM, and SMS, as well as Internet standards such as WS-Management that will enable system administrators to simply and efficiently manage their network security whether the solution is an all-Microsoft solution or a heterogeneous solution.
