SQL Server TechCenter Launches

Well, how about this - looks good to me! Definitely one for your favourites. I'll say no more and just paste in the general announcememt for customers.

SQL Server TechCenter Launches

The new SQL Server TechCenter is live on TechNet – featuring an improved organization of technical information, and offering technology and task-based views into SQL Server content.

The goal behind the SQL Server TechCenter is to be the one place that IT Pros can go to get all the technical information they need to do their job. Together with the SQL Server Developer Center and Microsoft.com/SQL, the SQL TechCenter ensures that SQL Server customers can access content that is discoverable, accurate, up to date and relevant to their job needs.

The SQL Server TechCenter follows the launch of the Exchange and Windows Server SP1 TechCenters, and is an example of how we're better servicing customers' content needs more consistently across server products.

The new-look SQL Server TechCenter features improved navigation, with links to Browse by Technology and Browse by Task navigation pages for the current SQL Server 2000 release. It also has dynamic content enabled for Top Tasks, as well as most popular downloads and KB articles. The comprehensive Technical Library lets customers locate technical documentation that has been approved by the SQL Server team. The TechCenter also surfaces key SQL Server information for customers, such as editorial features on SQL Server 2005. Added to that, customers have quick links to the broader SQL Server community.

By going live with the SQL TechCenter before the June Customer Technology Preview and the SQL Server 2005 release, we have time to test out site functionality and collect feedback from customers through usability and reviews. We're also bringing together our various SQL Server content partners within Microsoft to be more responsive to customer needs and to ensure greater collaboration around what we do on the Web.

Expect to see many more improvements as we drive customers’ suggested changes into improving navigation, search, feedback and content delivery - getting the right technical information to customers in the right format and right time, giving them a more rewarding, responsive and interactive content experience.
