Today we released an update for Microsoft Messenger for Mac to update it to version 5.1

For those of you that don't know already,  Microsoft Messenger for Mac is a dual stack client allowing you to log onto both the MSN Messenger service as well as Live Communication Server. 

The new client includes

  • Ability for Encrypted File transfer to external contacts
  • More control over the saving of chat conversations for IT administrators
  • Enhancements to Multiple Points of Presence i.e. being able to log into Live Communication Server from multiple messaging clients at the same time
  • Support for federation icon  - Users will be made aware they are talking to external contacts by displaying an icon next to their name
