Windows PC Accelerators: Performance Technology for Windows Vista

“Years of research by the performance group for the Windows family of operating systems has shown that random disk I/O as a result of demand paging is a key contributor to inconsistent responsiveness in Windows-based PCs. Windows Vista includes a collection of performance-enhancing features called Windows PC Accelerators that directly address inconsistent responsiveness. These features include Microsoft Windows SuperFetch™ memory management technology, Microsoft Windows ReadyBoost™ technology, and Microsoft Windows ReadyDrive™ technology.

This article provides a brief introduction to the Windows PC Accelerators.”

    Hi, I’m a CGArtist.

Question: Why was this technology annonced as a RAM replacement? (or made it sound like).

I tried several options on a 4Go USB stick, and it seems that there was no improvement at all.

While rendering, the machine would even go slower!

Worst, the machine won’t boot if the Stick was left in the slot.
