미국시간으로 2016년 7월 12일 오전(한국시간: 7/13일 자정), Enterprise Cloud Group CVP, Mike Neil은 Azure Stack에 대한Next Step을 Azure Blog를 통해 발표 했습니다.

발표 내용을 간략히 아래와 같이 정리 드립니다

지난 1월 Azure Stack TP1을 발표 이후, 전세계 많은 고객과 파트너를 통해 Azure Stack의 비전과 새로운 Azure Innovation의 미래를 보게 되었으며, TP1을 통해 우리는 다음과 같은 교훈을 얻게 되었습니다.

1. Consume Azure innovation quickly. Customers want Azure-consistent services as they become available, and to stay up to date with the latest innovation in Azure. They are willing to trade off customization at the infrastructure layer to gain a faster time-to- value.

2.Ensure quality and system reliability. Customers clearly reinforced our belief around quality and reliability. They are looking for an end to end solution that “just works”, not just at deployment time, but also as new updates are introduced.

위 두가지 요구사항에 부합하기 위해 본사에서는 Azure Stack을Turnkey Integrated System으로 공급하기로 했습니다.

이에 따라, Software, Hardware, Support **및 Service가 ONE SOLUTION형태로 공급될 예정**이며, 우선 Dell, HPE, Lenovo와 엔지니어링 협업을 시작했습니다.

그리고, Azure Stack General Availability시점은 2017년 중순경으로 연기 되었으며, 다음 버전의 Technical Preview는 올해 말 정도에 발표할 예정입니다.
