Windows 7은 Windows Vista를 기반으로 많은 기술과 기능, 가치를 향상, 업그레이드 시킨 플랫폼입니다. 이에 Windows Vista와의 호환성은 매우 높은 편이며.. 플랫폼의 사용자 모드에서 작동하는 대부분의 Windows Vista 응용 프로그램은 Windows 7에서도 큰 무리없이 동작하고 있습니다.
Windows Vista에 호환성을 확보하지 못한 응용 프로그램의 경우, 어떤 부분이 Windows Vista, 혹은 Windows 7과 호환이 되지 않는지를 테스트해볼 수 있는 매우매우 유용한 도구가 바로 ACT(Application Compatibility Toolkit)입니다. 이번달 말즈음에 웹캐스트를 통해 ACT를 사용하는 방법에 대해서 살펴드릴 시간이 있을 것 같습니다.
현재 ACT 5.5 버전은 Windows 7 Beta 버전을 호환하고 있으며, Windows 7이 출시될 즈음에 ACT 6.0이 출시될 예정입니다. 기존 5.0 버전에서 변경 혹은 새롭게 추가된 사항은 아래 표와 같습니다.
