Windows Server를 관리하는데 있어, 클라이언트에서 원격 관리 도구를 설치해서 관리하는 것을 Microsoft는 보안적으로 더 권장합니다. 실제 서버에 원격 데스크톱을 통해서 접속할 수도 있지만, 원격 관리 도구, 정확하게 말해, Microsoft Management Console(MMC)를 이용하는 것을 추천하죠.

Windows Vista용 RSAT(Remote Server Administration Tools)은 이미 예전에 출시되었고, Windows Vista SP1 기반에서 Windows Server 2003, 2008을 관리할 수 있습니다.

Windows 7 Beta에 맞춰, Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2008 R2를 관리할 수 있는 Windows 7 Beta용 RSAT, 역시 릴리즈되었습니다. 베타 버전의 클라이언트에서 서버를 관리할 수 있게 해주는 발빠른 릴리즈에 박수를 보내고 싶습니다.
