SCVMM in System Center 2012 and managing Citrix XenServer (So Many Questions. So Little Time. Part 5.)

This question came from Randy at our TechNet Event in Saint Louis:

“Are the VMM management capabilities for a Citrix XenServer based VM the same as for a Hyper-V based VM? (example: can you still live migrate, change RAM, etc?)”

The simple answer is: The capabilities are pretty much the same.  Live Migration, for example, will simply drive VMs in a managed pool through XenMotion.  There are a couple of considerations in some areas (such as XenServer Templates and networking), but being able to build a Cloud of Citrix XenServer resources right alongside Hyper-V or VMware based clouds is pretty amazing.
