MMS 2010 was a blast as always. We had some really good sessions on SCOM coming from the community and fellow MS PFE’s. We also had a LOT of Service Manager sessions this year, with the long awaited RTM of Service Manager. It is certainly generating a lot of excitement in the community, and I have several customers who are already evaluating it to replace or complement their existing enterprise incident management systems.
The Opalis product was also center stage, and just seemed to “Wow” everyone. I imagine we will see a LOT more adoption of this really cool technology ramping up over the next couple months. It just seems limitless what you can do, especially how it integrates with OpsMgr.
We also got a roadmap of the next releases planned for 2011 and 2012. 2011 is going to be BUSY!
If you missed MMS this year – you can watch the keynotes at http://www.mms-2010.com/public/home.aspx
The time is NOW to start planning MMS for next year! The dates have been announced – March 21-25, 2011 at the Mandalay Bay Casino in Las Vegas.
At MMS this year, my good friend and fellow PFE, Jesse Harris, “got me” with some custom T-shirts made up. It was pretty funny, I think I had a red face for 3 hours. :-) My goal for next year is to shrink down so my shirt will actually fit me!
Pictured left to right (All Microsoft PFE’s!) are: Kevin Holman (US), Jesse Harris (US), Brian Barrington (US), John Erskine (UK), Csaba Koczka (Hungary), Bruno Gabrielli (Italy).
Thanks Jesse! You’re going to be the next target. 🙂
