Today, we’ve reached an exciting milestone that allows you to download and begin installing the final RTM releases of Windows 8 in your shops! As of today, August 15th, the Windows 8 final RTM (released to manufacturing) installation bits are now available for download to TechNet and MSDN subscribers via the Subscriber Downloads center.
Don’t Have a TechNet or MSDN Subscription?
That’s OK! You can still download a full evaluation copy of Windows 8 from the MSDN Evaluation Center – perfect for lab testing and learning about these latest Windows versions. While you’re downloading, you may also want to grab a copy of Windows Server 2012 because there’s several “better together” business scenarios around Scale-out File Services, Highly Available Printing, Direct Access, Branch Cache and more that work best with Windows Server 2012 in the datacenter. More on this in future blog posts.
Don’t Have a Lab Environment?
That’s OK too! You can leverage the Windows 8 Virtual LabFest Kit to install Windows 8 in a dual-boot Boot-from-VHD configuration. Get the full details on how you can leverage this for FREE –> HERE.
