Lenovo counters with IdeaPad Ultrabooks™

If you thought Lenovo would be sitting on the sidelines while Toshiba, Acer, ASUS, Samsung and other OEMs go after the ultralight notebook space, think again.  Today Lenovo announced the IdeaPad U300, U300s, and U400.  Pretty cool new consumer oriented machines.  I can't wait to see what's coming in the ThinkPad line.  In the meantime, here's some info on the U400.

I would buy one of these if the resolution were more decent, but I could not live with crappy 1366 resolution…

I'm with you.  I don't like 1366×768 much but I think my wife would be right at home on it. Price is going to be a big factor.  I remember thinking $1649 was a lot of money for the Samsung Series 9.  That machine is now $1199 at costco.com.

    The reviews should be interesting.
