Windows Server 2008 R2 Release Candidate and WAIK – now available

ws2008 r2 blog logo With all the fuss around Windows 7 and Windows Virtual PC, I thought a friendly reminder about a certain server operating system might be in order.  Yes, today marks the RC milestone for Windows Server 2008 R2 and as you are hopefully aware means we are getting ready to close the gap in several key areas of web and virtualization features and performance.

At the moment you’ll need to be a TechNet subscriber to get the goods, but I would imagine they will open the pipeline for everyone on Cinco De Mayo Internet Crush Day (May 5th).

While you are at it, be sure to download the Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 automated installation kit affectionately known as the WAIK. It’s in the R2 server area. Lots of new improvements to that bad boy.  And if all of this doesn’t keep you busy for a few months, I don’t know what will.

Wait, I nearly forgot Exchange Server 2010 and Office.  Grin.
