OMG, he was toooo funny. I think the was the first time I ever laughed outloud at a contestant- a good one at that! He’s absolutely hilarious and witty at that. I hope he makes it far at least- the winner of the season? maybe not.
That guy is hilarious. Best facial expressions, and kinda subtle about it. He could sing, but I like him better as a comedian!

This guy is great!!…not the greatest singer in the world, but his facial expressions and his comedic timing & sense of humor really adds a good vibe to the show. Moreoever, his rendition of ‘Amazing Grace’ was touching and heartfelt, until he made a joke out of the second verse…you had me going Norman.
I was looking for the clip on youtube but I don’t think it’s up yet. I’m going to watch this guy and hope that he doesn’t get disqualified too soon in the competition. He really is entertaining. Keep it up Norman Gentle, keep it up, LOL.

This was the funniest thing ever. Had my DVR on rewind like for about a good 20 minutes. And yes Ryan’s face at the end did not help.It was funny from beginning to end.Good one Norman.

I’m just glad they let him move on. DEFINITELY was hilarious and a breath of fresh air to the show. Of course we will all continue to watch no matter what, but you gotta love that they let a non traditional singer (more of a comedian) move on to Cali. Lets hope he makes the big show.
I can’t imagine he will make the next cut unless he really can sing. It sounded like he may be able to, and that his whole first audition was just for fun (and ratings).
We’ll see soon enough if he really has talent. He’s obviously a pretty good actor.

This guy made my day. I laughed harder than I had for a while–a long while. He may not become the next idol, but they should keep this guy around for comic relief.

The Norman Gentle routine is getting old and although it’s probably good for ratings, it would be more interesting if Nick could really sing and compete at a professional level. But can he?

If being unforgetable, sellable , memorable and talented is the main requisition to becoming an Idol. Then Nick Mitchell (A.K.A. Norman Gentle ) should most definetly be at the top of the List. hours after his first performance on Idol there where blogs going out about him. Now thats what an Idol is all about.Definetly by far the quickest and most popular Idol first audition Ever. He has my families vote for sure. Best entertainment ever on Idol in my opinion.
American Idol seems to be focused on pure singing skills. Not dancing. Not comedy.
I like Nick/Norman.
But if this is about singing, then he needs to step up because the competition looks really strong.
