Rob Westover – rest in peace my friend

Last Monday and Tuesday I had the pleasure of working alongside Jamie Westover at the Microsoft Management Summit in Las Vegas.  Jamie is wife to Rob Westover.  It seemed odd to me that Rob wasn’t there having some fun with us because he was a lover of fun places, and particularly loved Las Vegas.  Rob passed away Tuesday night in Seattle and it came as a big shock to us all.

For those of you that don’t know Rob, he was one of the nicest people I’ve ever met.  Kind, funny, smart, fun loving, hard worker and loving husband and father.  He was one of the original members of the team I’m on, and his legacy on this team and others will be felt for a long time coming.

The picture above was taken for the “Microsoft Across America” campaign we did a couple of years back.  Rob was our model as you can see.  Rob was a great sport about the whole thing and the picture captures part of his essence.

Rob would not want us to cry in our beer.  Instead Rob would want us to mix up a batch of something yummy and toast to the fun and adventures we’ve shared together.  Rob will be missed greatly by all that knew him.

We need to update the photo to say "Heaven or Bust".   Man I’m gonna miss him.  Anyone who had the opportunity to get to know Rob realized quickly how blessed they were to know such a phenominal person.  He was always there when you needed him and could be counted on to brighten up any room, no matter the situation.

    We Love You Rob!

Thanks for the post, Keith. I met you at MMS and you spoke fondly of Rob when you were there. (I was with Jamie). LOVE the photo you posted and am going to print it out. It really does capture Rob’s essence.

Rob was one of the first people I met when I joined Mosaix years ago. He and I traveled to many customer locations and always had a ball, after business of  course. The one and only time I was in Las Vegas was with Rob. It was in March and he insisted we get a convertible so we could drive down the strip and see EVERYTHING !!! My thoughts are with Rob and his family He was a helluva guy.

I went to high school with Rob, in Bellevue. I just heard from another friend that he had passed

Rest in Peace my friend – I met Rob in Las Vegas at Interop over 3 years ago – he was a very good friend – I just heard about the terrible news when I stopped at his house a few weeks ago.

Jamie – Sadly, I never had the chance to meet with you but Rob was so proud to be with you – I remember when he showed us (my wife and I) MSFT visiting center he took the time to explain your wonderful contribution to the world.

My sincerest condolences to you and your family.
