Many schools are using System Center Configuration Manager and Operations Manager today to manage and monitor their IT operations. I’m excited about an upcoming addition to the System Center family – Service Manager. It’s much more than a help desk solution. Service Manager provides built in processes for incident and problem resolution, change control and asset lifecycle management.
As you would expect, Service Manager integrates with other System Center products for automating your organization’s best practices (like ITIL or Microsoft Operations Framework – MOF).
More details on Service Manager, including whitepapers and the option to download the beta 2 release are available here.
We’re still on track to release Service Manager in the first half of 2010, so it will make a great project for your summer break! 🙂
