Word makes a bulleted list double spaced instead of single

  • Have you ever

  • Written a bulleted list

  • In Word, and for some

  • Unknown reason, it

  • double-spaces it?

Fear not, you can address this by doing the following:

    1. Select the text in the list
    2. Format | Paragraph
    3. Make sure both “Before” and “After” in the “Spacing” section are 0pt

KC … though I always appreciate your tips and I have fixed this by following your steps in the past, I wonder why the Word auto-format feature hasn’t been fixed to address this?!

It’s been ongoing for several versions and obviously a known issue to MS, but is there a technical reason you’re aware of why it hasn’t been addressed?

Strangely, I can’t reproduce this. How does this happen actually?

    3. I do not work on Word, so I have no idea.
