Windows 7

Hey all,

I installed Windows 7 yesterday! I’m quite excited about it. As most reviewers commented, perhaps the first feature you notice is the new taskbar. I must say “I LIKE!”. It’s different and does the job that I feel it should. Shows you what you want to have up and running in no time – so a mix between quick launch and task bar, really. I can see why that could be confusing, esp if you want to close apps and don’t know what’s open… actually you can tell what’s open. You see borders around the icons that have windows open. The ones that’re closed show no border around it.

Jump lists (right click on a taskbar item) are cool too. I’m glad to see the history of the apps I use. Am not raving about that yet.

Performance. Still early, but I do notice a slow down on my machine. I’m not sure. Maybe I need to defrag or check my hd space. Been downloading Mixed Tapes from Mercedes-Benz, so that could be it!

To a large extent, if you’ve used vista you’ll be familiar with Windows 7. I’ve looked at a couple of reviews and they seem to point to some great tweaks, but so far other than the taskbar, and the Aero Peek (do a search!) I’ve not experienced anything more.

I’ll be prowling the blogs for more features though.

Good day!
