Just Meetings? No Actual Work?

Thanks for finding my blog. Just a quick note to start to explain the title of this blog.

I work for Microsoft as a Premier Field Engineer supporting SharePoint. That's just another way to say that I spend my time with Microsoft customers helping them make SharePoint work for them.

The last time I crossed an international border, the immigration official asked me the nature of my visit. I explained I worked for Microsoft and was working with a local customer. She asked me, with no sense of irony "So you're just here for meetings? No actual work?"

I thought for just a second about possible responses, decided that a simple "Yes" would be the easiest course -- and would let me in the country -- but thought that phase might be a good introduction.
