Windows Server 2016 における IIS 6.0 マネージャーの不具合

Windows Server 2016 におけるインターネット インフォメーション サービス (IIS) 6.0 マネージャーの不具合についてお知らせいたします。

 

Windows Server 2016/IIS 10.0 の設定を行う際は インターネット インフォメーション サービス (IIS) マネージャー を利用しますが、SMTP の機能 (※) を利用するために インターネット インフォメーション サービス (IIS) 6.0 マネージャー=  IIS 6.0 マネージャー というアプリケーションが残されています。

Windows Server 2016  では、この IIS 6.0 マネージャーを終了する際に、イベント ログに以下のようなエラーが記録される場合がございます。

 

 

このエラーは IIS 6.0 マネージャーのモジュール inetmgr.dll を実行する mmc.exe が異常終了したことを示していますが、IIS 6.0 マネージャーの終了時にのみ発生している場合には SMTP の動作に影響はございませんのでご安心ください。

原因は製品の不具合と判明しておりますが、大変恐縮ながら SMTP の機能およびその設定のための IIS 6.0 マネージャー は Windows Server 2008 R2 以降でのご利用は非推奨 (※) であり、また SMTP の動作に影響がないことから修正の見込みはございません。

誠に恐れ入りますが、対象のサーバーの運用においてはIIS 6.0 マネージャーの終了時に記録される上記のエラー イベント を無視していただきますようお願い申し上げます。

 

※ Windows Server 2012 R2 以降は非推奨

SMTP and the associated management tools are deprecated. Though the functionality is still available in Windows Server 2012, you should begin using System.Net.Smtp. With this API, you will not be able to insert a message into a file for pickup; instead configure Web applications to connect on port 25 to another server using SMTP.
