WAP Installation and Configuration

This post covers three papers I have written describing how to set up Windows Azure Pack in a distributed layout. The layout is minimal, meaning there is an external (Tenant) site and an internal (Admin) site on different systems. A DC and SQL server are also required. The setup of everything is covered in detail. I hope these papers are as useful to you as they were to me when I wrote them. Download links at end of post. Enjoy!

About this Document

This document was created out of necessity. Although there are many documents that cover WAP Distributed Installation in detail or in full, I have not found the right one yet. I want…

Reliable
o In all fairness there are some great docs out there. They don’t cover all the gotcha’s of installation that you normally spend time on figuring out. – OR –
o They cover all of the details, but you spend a full fifty percent of your time following links to sub articles.

Informative
o WAP Express is pretty close to Reliable. But it is not informative.
o Breaking the parts down a bit and showing what WAP components are installed where is a great bonus.

Concise
o Tell me how to do it. Give me a few images to verify key settings. Tell me what to look out for ahead of time. Go in order!
o That’s it. Done!

There are many documents on Microsoft and other sites that cover what this document covers in part. This document’s key goal is a reliable, repeatable installation document that will withstand constant product updates for some time.
