Hi – Gary Olsen here. As a Microsoft Directory Services MVP, I’ve been interested for some time in forming an Active Directory Users Group (AADUG) for the Atlanta area and it’s finally coming together.

Details for our first meeting are included below. We had to delay it due to some scheduling conflicts, but hope you will be able to make it. We will have a virtual session available on Live Meeting for those who can’t attend but you can’t win the prizes that way :-)

The goal of AADUG is to get folks together who are interested in AD technologies, and to get some expert speakers to present on timely topics. With new products like Windows 2008 R2, HyperV, Windows7, and IE 8, as well as our old friends like security, authentication, replication and troubleshooting, there is no end to important topics. It will also give us a chance to network with others who work with AD and perhaps share problems and experiences and socialize a bit. Microsoft is supporting us with speakers, a place to meet and some occasional goodies to give away (see below).

In the first meeting we’ll get organized with future meeting plans, topics you are interested in, and hopefully talk some of you into helping with things like a web page, newsletter, and doing presentations. I’m quite impressed by the number of people interested so far – and in a wide variety of industries. I think it will be great to see what everyone is doing with AD. So – take a look at the meeting details and send an RSVP to me at gary.olsen@hp.com so we know what to plan on.

And please forward this to anyone else who is interested!

Best regards,

Gary Olsen
Systems Software Engineer – Hewlett-Packard Company
Microsoft MVP – Directory Services.
