Gearing Up!

Coming on board at Microsoft has been quite the experience so far.  Lots of people to get to know (in person and virtually), lots of new processes and procedures to familiarize myself with, plus all the regular tasks that come along with starting a new job.  Nothing makes a new job feel more comfortable than getting your computer systems set up to your liking.

For day to day tasks, I'll be using a Surface Pro, but for my hands-on lab work and demos, I have a Lenovo W530. The priority for this week was getting it set up with Windows Server 2012.  Check out my post on Techbunny where I cover everything I needed to consider while installing a fresh OS on a machine with a GPT disk, UEFI and a Windows product key locked in the firmware.

I certainly learned a lot!
