TechNet Live Events for May 2010: Virtualization Month!

Next month we have something special for you folks.  As you all know we have been running TechNet Live events totechnet_virtual2_2 keep you up-to-date with the latest Microsoft technologies.  In May we are dedicating the entire month to Virtualization and have 4 sessions lined up to address what Microsoft is doing in this space.  We realise there is a lot of information out there about our virtualisation strategy but it’s often misunderstood or people are not aware of all the technologies we have to offer.  Well hopefully with these sessions we can give some clear information and get you up to speed in this important area.  Details of the sessions are below and we hope to see many of you online for these sessions in May.

Event Overview
The challenge many of us face today is the rigid coupling of applications to the standard operating environment or the machine and operating system. This leads to a number of issues including incompatibility between two applications installed on the same OS instance. Microsoft Application Virtualization addresses these issues de-coupling as applications from the physical environment and enabling them to be virtualized and streamed to the client.  In this session we’ll talk about the new version of Application Virtualization; App-V 4.6.  We’ll discuss the changes in this new version, including how it works better with Windows 7 and Office 2010.

Demonstrations in this Session
Installing and Configuring App-V 4.6
Sequencing an Application
Installing an application on a client
