TechNet User Group Tour: Brisbane was BIG..

Windows7_v_rgb

I just wanted to thank all the folks that turned up to the first stop on my TechNet User Group Tour.  I was in  Brisbane for 3 days and the first user group meeting was with the BIG boys!  That’s Brisbane Infrastructure Group for those of you not in the know.  And what a turnout it was!  102 people turned up to hear about Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 and there was an XBOX session before me but I like to think they came to see me!  Check out the photo Jorke stitched together showing just how packed the room was.

The next night I talked about the Windows 7 Security story which was not the original topic I had on the agenda but it fit better with this group to talk about security in Windows 7.  We had about 20 security folks to this meeting which was a smaller turnout but this group is newer so still growing in it’s size.

We also gave out about 175 copies of the Windows 7 beta which was timely since the day of the sessions was the last day you could download the beta.

So if you were at one of these session please let me know what you thought and if you’ve installed the beta that you got on the night let me know how that’s going as well.

And finally I want to thank the user group leaders for doing a great job with organizing the groups and for letting everyone know about the event and of course for running the groups in the first place.  So thanks Dugie, Alan Shane and Wade for all the work you do with the user groups!
