TechNet Live! Event: Windows Vista Deployment

technet

Hot on the heels of our first event we are squeezing in another before the silly season kicks in and nobody’s paying attention.  This time I'm going to cover Windows Vista deployment.  With the beta release of Windows 7 coming soon customers are still undecided as to whether they should deploy Vista now or wait until Windows 7.  Truth be told Windows 7 is being built on the Windows Vista foundation so really we believe you should not be waiting to deploy Vista.  Whether you are a small; medium or large business this session should have some good information about the range of tools we have to help with deployment.  So full event details are below.

Title:   Deploying Windows Vista into you Organisation

Abstract:   In this session we will look at how to automate deployment of Windows Vista for small, medium, and large scale deployment scenarios. The session explores applications that help IT Professionals assess existing resources before deploying Vista SP1 operating system such as Microsoft Assessment and Planning Solution Accelerator and System Center Essentials. We will cover application deployment and planning scenarios to ensure that the right applications are deployed and to accelerate deployment for Vista desktop computers. We will over Application Compatibility Toolkit (ACT) 5.0 to ensure productivity applications can be deployed on Windows Vista seamlessly and User State Migration tool to migrate existing operating system settings. The session will explore small organization deployment scenarios that will walk you through deploying Windows Vista SP1 using Windows Deployments Services, Windows Update, and Windows Automated Installation Kit. For midsize businesses we will deploy Windows Vista SP1 using System Center Essentials to existing Windows Vista computers and Windows Deployment Toolkit (MDT) 2008 to provision new computers for Windows Vista SP1. System Center Configuration Manager will be used for large scale deployments and Windows Server Update Services for updating Windows Vista clients to Windows Vista SP1.

We had some feedback from the last session that some of you dialled into the audio conference bridge instead of using computer audio and there was no one there.  Well the way we have set this up it’s very difficult for us to do both so we are disabling the telephony conference bridge.  If this is an issue for you please let me know and I’ll see what I can do.

Again Deeps and I hope to see many of you there.  And please tell your friends because the more people there the better.
