Windows Server 2008 Screencast: Server Core Installation

Hello again,

In my previous Screencast I showed you the setup of the Enterprise version of Windows Server 2008. The setup took approximately 30 minutes or so. In this Screencast I take you through a new minimal install option called Server Core. Now what is Server Core you might ask? Well it's a new minimal server install option in Windows Server 2008 that only installs the core OS and has no graphical user interface. The setup is pretty much identical as it is for install other versions but the end result of course is very different. The Server Core install I've done in this Screencast took about 15 minutes or so. This is mainly due to the fact it's only about 1GB in size for the entire installation compared to around 5GB for a full install. Now in this screencast I'm not going to go into too much detail about the Server Core option. I'm just going through the install at this stage. I'll save those details for a future Screencast. So with that said you have 2 options. Click the picture below to watch using Soapbox and click the server graphic to watch in Windows Media Player.
