Microsoft Research: Celebrating 15 years

research

As a lot of you know; I will be celebrating 20 years at Microsoft this August and for the last 15 of those Microsoft Research has been driving innovation in basic and applied research. In 1991 Bill gates decided to make a bold investment for our long term future and formed the Microsoft research division. And now 15 years later nearly every Microsoft product contains technology that originated in the research division.

Now 750 people strong with five labs on three continents, MSR continues to advance the state of the art in computing technology and move those innovations into the products that our customers enjoy today and into the future. Hear about Microsoft’s unique approach to research and innovation, and see a sneak preview of technologies that might appear in Microsoft products in the years to come.

So my man Berno has organised a special event with Kevin Schofield who is the General Manager of Microsoft Research in Redmond; to talk about what we are doing in this exciting area. Kevin spoke at the recent conference I was at in Seattle so you are really in for a treat!

To register for the event click here!  But hurry because you have to register by February 20th.

Cheers, Jeffa
