Hi folks,

My mate David Mackie runs this group and this month he is talking all about NAP.  So if you live in the Canberra area then check out this upcoming meeting.

Canberra Windows User Group

October Meeting: 10th Oct 2006

Microsoft Canberra Office

Level 2, 44 Sydney Avenue, Barton ACT

Tuesday 10th October, 17:00 for Pizza and Networking for a 17:30 Presentation Start finished before 19:30

Network Access Protection will be a great tool for mitigation of the issues inherent in allowing notebooks to return to the corporate network when traveling off network.

Network Access Protection includes a client and server architecture. Administrators can configure Internet Protocol security (IPsec) Enforcement, IEEE 802.1X Enforcement, virtual private network (VPN) Enforcement, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) Enforcement, or all four, depending on their network needs.

There is an XP SP2 client piece to allow integration with existing desktop deployments.

This session is designed to provoke thought about how a NAP deployment may work in your environment and get people thinking about benefits to get corporate buy in for a development and pilot phase to co-inside with the Longhorn Release.
