Description of the case study

The architecture team in Microsoft Human Resources IT (HRIT) used the master pages provided in Microsoft® ASP.NET version 2.0 to create a Web application to act as the foundation for other Web applications in the HRIT application space. By using this foundation application to develop the new CareerCompass talent management application, HRIT developers could focus on application-specific features instead of having to create infrastructural code, while complying with organization-wide user interface (UI) standards.
