Microsoft Windows Products Awarded Common Criteria EAL 4 Certification

Today we announced that a whole bunch of our Windows products have received the CC EAL 4 certification.  This was issued by the National Information Assurance Partnership which ensures that IT products meet the highest security standards. The following list of products earned this certification:

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Standard Edition (32–bit version) with SP1 
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition (32–bit and 64–bit versions) with SP1
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Datacenter Edition (32–bit and 64–bit versions) with SP1
  • microsoft Windows Server 2003 Certificate Server, certificate Issuing and management Components (CIMC) (Security Level 3 Protection Profile, version 1.0)
  • Microsoft Windows XP Professional with SP2
  • Microsoft Windows XP Embedded with SP2

This is a siginificant milestone for us in ensuring our products are of the highest security possible.  The work we are doing in the Software Development Lifecycle is really starting to pay off now.
