Teched 2005 Australia: Keynote Update

Hi all,

Over the last few weeks I’ve been busy preparing for Teched 2005 on the Gold Coast and one of my main responsibilities is completely owning the content of the keynote address.  Am I stressed?  You bet!  Just ask Frank!

Well I’m happy to say that things are shaping up and we have a great speaker lined up for you this year.  Iain McDonald will be doing the keynote this year which is great!  Iain is an old mate of mine from my PSS days in the early 90’s.  Iain is an Aussie and started his career at Microsoft in Australia.  He is now a Director in the Windows Server group and is largely responsible for shipping Windows Vista.  So the agenda right now is shaping up like this.

Keynote title: Back on the front foot

Agenda:

Windows Vista – Positiong and demos!  Way cool!  Michael Kleef will be doing the demo’s for this bit!
Visual Studio 2005 – Positioning and demos
SQL Server 2005 – Positioning and demos
Windows Server – Here Iain is going to give you an update on R2, our plans for Windows Server Longhorn and other technologies.
Indigo – He will close with Indigo and our plans in that space

It’s shaping up to be a great kickoff to Teched 2005 in Australia so I hope to see many of you there!

I don’t want to give too much away at this stage because I want to keep the excitement level as high as possible.

Well I better get back to building all the demo machines!

See you at Teched!
