I was surfing around the net and came across an interesting article , describing a new social networking software being developed by the Microsoft Research Community. This software which stands for Social Location Annotation Mobile, lets you send messages photos to fellow members of your group ?. So what is different about this. Well the SLAM software can locate you and your fellow members by pinpointing them on a map which the Slam Server references by Using Microsofts Virtual Earth. It is like an electronic version of the map used by Harry Potter around Hogwarts !!. This is not using GPS SLAM determines where you are based on the Mobile Phone pods. However it is not Big Brother completely tracking your every move…you have the option to hide your location plus decide who can see you,. This certainly adds a different element to your phone experience….which will be interesting to see how it develops . You can download SLAM from here.
