Here begins the period of craziness - and I can’t wait

CIMG1998

Well, well, well. It’s mid-October and my life is about to get insane.

Yesterday a consultant from the removal company came round to size up all my personal possessions ready for the big move to Seattle.  Tomorrow I head to the US Embassy in London to get my visa application and get my passporto stamped (fingers crossed).

All being ok, I fly to Seattle on the 22nd from London. No time for jetlag, I head into the office on the 23rd & 24th to meet the team who by all accounts are running round like crazy people getting ready for PDC.  I’ll try not to get in the way too much and get myself acquainted with my office and where the coffee machine is.

On the Friday I head to San Fran to hang out with friends who are in town from Sacramento and London before continuing onto LA where I will be checking into the Westin Bonaventure as Thomas got spot on in his guide to PDCSteve’s in The Standard but that means we can put the expensive cocktails on his room bill – cheers mate :-)

Luckily I got my PDC bling on earlier in the year before things got crazy busy with a PDC laptop sticker I purchased from www.skinit.com (I want the next one free for that plug guys ;-)).

During PDC I’ll probably be finding out which of these tours (Jumpstart or MSDN Developer conferences in the US) I’ll be involved in and wondering if I’ll ever get to see Seattle or my new home!

Then after a week of PDC madness I’m up to San Jose, heart of Silicon Valley to see my old man who moved out there a year ago.  I’ll be looking forward to a relaxing weekend with some nice bottles of Californian red before embarking on whatever they have in store for me.

So here I am at home in the UK waiting for the rollercoaster to get to the top before letting go and going along for the ride.  Check me on Twitter for regular updates on how all this turns out.

Finally, in response to Steve’s list of things he is taking to PDC I only have one on mine:
