Standards based web design: the opposite of Microsoft based web design

"Standards based web design is the opposite of Microsoft based web design"  That was a joke one of the Microsoft speakers used at the event today.  It got a laugh but behind the humour is a serious message.

We're aware of the perception and the reason why IE and Microsoft have got tagged with the label - and we're looking to change it.  Standards are the way forward.

Expression Web shows how we are taking the challenge seriously, it's a standards aware web design tool and there are lots of tools built in that help keep your design standard compliant.

The demo given by Jeff King showed off the way Expression Web handles generating CSS styles with a rich editor - everything could be done really nicely and the HTML and CSS code was cleaned up on the fly in the background.
