New SQL Server 2005 Reporting Packs

Yesterday we released eight new SQL Server 2005 Reporting Packs.  They provide some great examples of the way that Reporting Services can deliver business critical information to decision makers in your organisation.

The packs demonstrate how to gather and present information from various sources, from the Dynamics product range to the SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) Event Log.  The latter is a great example of SQL Server 2005 using its own new features to present information to the user (in this case the DBA), something that can also be seen with the reports in the new Management Studio.

The packs available are:

  • SQL Server 2005 Report Pack for SQL Server Integration Services
  • SQL Server 2005 Report Pack for Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2003
  • SQL Server 2005 Report Pack for Microsoft Dynamics Axapta 3.0
  • SQL Server 2005 Report Pack for Microsoft Dynamics Navision 4.0
  • SQL Server 2005 Report Pack for Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains 8.0
  • SQL Server 2005 Report Pack for Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains 9.0
  • SQL Server 2005 Report Pack for Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS)
  • SQL Server 2005 Report Pack for Financial Reporting

They come with an example database and a range of reports that can be used as templates from which you can create your own custom reports.

You can find out more about the packs and download them here: https://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=d81722ce-408c-4fb6-a429-2a7ecd62f674&displaylang=en

To support you in the use of the packs there is also a new workspace on GotDotNet where you can collaborate with other developers: https://www.gotdotnet.com/codegallery/codegallery.aspx?id=7727c619-25c0-4664-87ef-4f818c4a57b3

I look forward to hearing your experiences with the packs.
