RSA 2007 Day 1 - The Pre-Game Show

It's that time of the year again.  That one special Sunday.  People will be traveling from all around the world to converge at one place.  Plenty of swag is at the ready for the hungry hopeful.  Corporate sponsorships have run amok and logos can be found in almost every possible location.  Oh, yeah, security is not only top of mind, it's at the center of this once yearly event.

Wait! What was that?  The Super Bowl is today too?  Ha!  I was talking about the yearly RSA Conference (2007 edition) that officially kicks (kinda) off today.  At least for the exhibitors and others involved with the logistics of getting this event up and going.

For me, I've been in San Fran since Friday evening, enjoying a little time away from my office at Microsoft HQ, but at the same time running around getting things sorted for our big opening on Tuesday with the BillG and Craig Mundie keynote.  I spent the last week working on a white paper that will cover off a bit of what Gates and Mundie will be chatting about in the conference's opening ceremonies.  Yesterday, I had the opportunity to take this thing to the printers.  More on that paper later.

We're also setting up the Microsoft booth (#1208) on the expo floor (by "we" I mean other people are actually setting it up, but I did go by yesterday to check things out.  It looks great!  You can expect a few more camera phone shots of that.

I've also put the finishing touches on two presentations I'll be delivering in the Microsoft booth.  For all the fans of my blog who'll be in town, you can catch me live and in person at:

  • Tuesday @ 5p on the subject of "See Client Security in Three Dimensions", which is all about that Secure Client solution I've mentioned in past postings, and
  • Wednesday @ 2p speaking about the "Security Advancements in Windows Server “Longhorn” Platform Networking".

Also, you can catch some neat demos (include a brand new one we've been working on for Server and Domain Isolation) at our Policy-driven Network Access Solutions and Microsoft Network Access Protection pods at the booth.

Okay, enough hype (for now).  Time to get ready for that other big game going on today.  Go Colts!

I leave you now with another shot from my i-mate K-JAM's camera of the Moscone Center from my hotel room (please no stalkers)
