Hi Everyone,

 

Last week, 14 Windows legacy products related hot-fix KB articles were released, including 3 for Windows XP, 2 forWindows Server 2003,and 9 for System Center. Below are the details:

 

Windows XP - 3 KB articles:

· 971165  The CLIENTNAME environment variable returns the value "Console" instead of the actual client name when users first log on to a Windows XP SP3-based computer by using Remote Desktop Connection

· 970048  Slow printing performance when you print to an LPR printer from a Windows XP-based computer

· 971421  You cannot access a network share by using a client-side redirector that uses the server message block (SMB) protocol on a computer that is running Windows XP

 

Windows Server 2003 - 2 KB articles:

· 970810 A computer that is running Windows Server 2003 SP2 that supports the IPMI standard stops responding when the computer is writing a memory dump file

· 969701 The memory usage of the Svchost.exe process keeps increasing when other users remotely collect performance data about the Windows Server 2003-based computer

 

System Center - 9 KB articles:

· 969991  When you use System Center Configuration Manager 2007 RTM to capture an image of Windows Vista SP2 or of Windows Server 2008 SP2, the image capture process fails during the "Prepare Windows for Capture" stage

· 970093  When you use System Center Configuration Manager 2007 Service Pack 1 to capture an image of Windows Vista SP2 or of Windows Server 2008 SP2, the image capture process fails during the "Prepare Windows for Capture" stage

· 970739  The System Center Configuration Manager 2007 Service Pack 1 Administration console crashes when you repeatedly click the “Find Now” button to filter the view on a collection

· 969620  The SMS_EXECUTIVE service process (Smsexec.exe) crashes on a System Center Configuration Manager 2007 Service Pack 1 site server that allows SQL server authentication

· 971506  A package that is several gigabytes is not updated on a branch distribution point (BDP) in System Center Configuration Manager 2007 Service Pack 1.

· 971223  Windows Vista Service Pack 2 and Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2 are not listed as supported platforms in System Center Configuration Manager 2007 Service Pack 1

· 971224  Windows Vista Service Pack 2 and Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2 are not listed as supported platforms in System Center Configuration Manager 2007 RTM

· 971225  Windows Vista Service Pack 2 and Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2 are not listed as supported platforms in Systems Management Server 2003 Service Pack 3

· 971310  A terminal server that is running Windows Server 2003 stops responding during the shutdown process if a remote console session is established on the server
