August 11 – August 17 Hot-Fix KB articles Weekly Release – Windows Legacy Products

Last week, 13 Windows Legacy products related hot-fix KB articles were released, including 4 for Windows Server 2003, 2  for Windows Server 2003 R2, 5 for Windows XP, 2 for IE 7.0. Below are the details:


 


Windows Server 2003 – 4 KB articles:


·         956048 An application that calls the Image Color Management (ICM) functions in the Icm32.dll module may crash on a Windows Server 2003-based computer


·         955575 The InitializeSecurityContext function fails with a status of “STATUS_INSUFFICIENT_RESOURCES (0xC000009A)” when the token size of a security principal is greater than 20,000 bytes in Windows Server 2003


·         952087 Customized permissions that are applied to DNS records are reset to the default value when these records are deleted and tombstoned on a Windows Server 2003-based DNS server


·         950085 The Group Policy Object Editor MMC snap-in displays a Group Policy setting as “Not configured” in Windows Server 2003 when the value of the setting is longer than 1,024 characters


Windows server 2003 R2 – 2 KB articles:


·         956548 An update lets you choose to enable or disable the pthread_testcancel function in Subsystem for UNIX-based Applications on Windows Server 2003 R2-based computers


·         955454 The Wmiprvse.exe process crashes when an application runs a query to enumerate process information on a Windows Server 2003 R2-based computer that has Subsystem for UNIX-based Applications installed


Windows XP – 5 KB articles:


·         954956 You may encounter a Stop error on a Windows XP-based computer when you heavily use the Server Message Block (SMB) redirector component


·         954494 You cannot view the XPS or XBAP files in Internet Explorer after you set the “System objects: Default owner for objects created by members of the Administrators group” Group Policy setting to “Administrators group” in Windows XP


·         953930 The Fc.exe command does not work correctly on a Windows XP-based computer when the two files that you are comparing have the TAB or SPACE character around the 128th byte in a string of characters


·         953929 The Fc.exe command does not work correctly in Windows XP when the command compares files that differ every 128th byte of a character string


·         954708 An update to add support for the serialization of complex Extensible Metadata Platform (XMP) data types in the Windows Imaging Component


 


Internet Explorer 7.0 – 2 KB articles:


·         954085 If you use a script to hide a SELECT control or to make the control visible in Internet Explorer 7, the left mouse button no longer functions


·         944400 getKB -IE7: Unable to accept mouse operation when doing select.style.visibility=’hidden’ at onblur event
