June 16 – June 22 Hot-Fix KB articles Weekly Release – Windows Client

Last week, 5 Windows Client products related hot-fix KB articles were released, including 1 for Windows XP, 1 for Windows Vista and 3 for Internet Explorer. Below are the details:


 


Windows XP – 1 KB articles:


·         953761 Windows XP SP3-based client computers cannot access the network when some DHCP information is unavailable


 


Windows Vista – 1 KB articles:


·         952154 You cannot play a DVD disk on a Windows Vista x64-based version when you use Windows Media Player 11 to play the DVD disk that is set to a region that differs from the default region of the DVD device


 


Internet Explorer – 3 KB articles:


·         952730 When you download a file in Internet Explorer 7, the space character in the file name is changed to a underscore


·         952729 When you try to open a shortcut in Internet Explorer 7, the target executable file cannot be loaded


·         943117 A blank Internet Explorer window does not close automatically as expected after you open a Microsoft Office document in Internet Explorer 7

    What is this sorry state of affairs at Microsoft Corporation? Why has Microsoft left Windows XP users in the lurch? It’s almost end of June and the XPS Essentials Pack is not compatible with slipstreamed SP3. Same thing applies to the KB updates which I previously commented about. Windows Easy Transfer Companion refuses to install. Just what is going on? Should I complain to Bill Gates or Mr.Ballmer?
