Yesterday, Microsoft announced a new wave of product updates including Windows Server, System Center, SQL Server, and the Windows Azure Pack.
As I have written about this in the past, hosting service providers are a primary delivery partner for the Cloud OS vision. This release of products continue to prioritize the needs of hosting partners and deliver exciting new features, including dynamic scaling of VMs and their resources, integrated management of network virtualization, storage spaces and hyper-v replica, and in-memory OLTP for databases up to 10 times faster without hardware or software changes.
I mentioned in my blog post last week, the New Era of Hosted Services, the next two years represent the era of hybrid cloud – defined as the interoperability of private and public clouds. The research shows that 68 percent of customers plan to adopt hybrid cloud models in the next two years; up from 49 percent today. With Windows Server 2012 R2, System Center 2012 R2, and SQL Server 2014, available in preview later this month, the products help connect customer datacenters, service provider datacenters, and Windows Azure. Allowing organizations of all sizes to make IT services and applications available across clouds.
This represents a great opportunity for our hosting partners to help their customers transition to and realize the full potential of the cloud. Use this opportunity to:
