With over 11 years’ experience delivering managed hosting and cloud services, Cbeyond is the worldwide leader in Microsoft cloud solutions and was recognized as such with the 2009 Worldwide Hosting Partner of the Year and 2010 Cloud Partner of the Year awards by Microsoft. Microsoft is an important and valuable partner of Cbeyond, and Cbeyond has demonstrated that by standardizing our entire technology stack by leverage Microsoft where possible. By doing this we are able to provide a homogenous environment with lower-cost and higher reliability than competing solutions.

The engineering team at Cbeyond Cloud Services has spent a significant amount of time evaluating and testing SQL Server 2012 and feels that this is the best version of SQL Server to date. SQL Server 2012 is the first version of SQL Server to be architected with the cloud in mind. The inclusion of AlwaysOn Availability Groups is quite simply a game changer for architecting cloud RDBMS’s. It gives Cbeyond and our customers the ability to easily and elegantly implement geo-redundancy and high-availability at a much lower cost than competing technologies. This technology will become a critical part of our product offering for clients who require geographically-diverse, high-performance databases. Additionally, there are some excellent enhancements that will make DBA’s and programmer’s lives easier including Contained Databases and some T-SQL Enhancements. Collectively SQL Server 2012 has exceeded expectations – I am excited about the products our team will be able to develop using this robust and cost-effective platform.
