C-SAT

...is an acronym we use a lot here in Redmond, short for "customer satisfaction."  Its all about listening to customers, answering the crucial question, "Do they like our stuff or not?" and then applying feedback to ongoing development.  Some good customer feedback is available in video form here on the updated Home Server web site.

The team has been receiving a lot of emails from happy customers, too, e.g. this one:

My wife (a self-employed real estate agent) woke up on Tuesday of last week and went to get her laptop and bring it to the office. The laptop was dead, with a blue screen of death and the inability to boot. She called me at work in a panic, and I was able to talk her down by reassuring her that all of her files, contacts, and critical information would be safe regardless of what was wrong with the machine.

We determined that the old machine was dead beyond repair, and purchased a new HP laptop that night at the local electronics store. On the new laptop, I was able to use home server to open up the files that were on her old, dead computer as of 2:00am, just before the crash. We copied over the files, got everything set up that night, and she was back up and running and in the office by the next morning....I'm a happy home server user.
