3,2,1...ignition!

Today is Windows Home Server launch day!  We're announcing a number of things.  First, the HP MediaSmart Server is now on sale on leading retailer sites, such as Amazon, Best Buy, Buy.com, Circuit City and Comp USA.  (Officially pre-order, but shipping soon.)  As I wrote this, the two versions of the product are the #1 and #4 bestsellers in Amazon's Computer and PC hardware section! There's a cool demo worth checking out on the Best Buy site, too.

Velocity Micro's NetMagix Home Server also goes on sale today, and Tranquil has rolled out its second box.  Fujitsu-Siemens, Medion, MAXDATA and other European makers should have their products on sale in time for the holidays. Iomega has unveiled the name and some details about its Home Server product due out early next year:  Iomega HomeCenter Server.  LifeWare's high-end LifeStorage solution will be out in the same timeframe. Lots of system builders are now offering Home Server boxes...and of course the software is available for the DIY crowd.

A dozen software and hardware partners are announcing their support for Home Server today. At last count, there are now more than 35 software and service Add-Ins for everything from personal blogging to home automation to security.

The groundswell of excitement and support for Windows Home Server since it was unveiled last January has been truly amazing.  Thanks to all of you who continue to contribute to the growing enthusiasm and community surrounding this product.

Be sure to check out the product home page for new content, too!
