PowerShell Summit North America 2014 announced

PowerShell Summit North America 2014 will open for public registration on September 15th; we’ll have some discounts available and everything is described at http://powershell.org/wp/?p=9776. We’ve already run through registration periods for our 2013 alumni, and for our TechLetter subscribers. But the biggest audience we have yet to reach are the folks who don’t yet know that the Summit exists – maybe that’s you? Well, we’ve made room for you! While in 2013 we capped out at 100 quickly-sold seats, for 2014, we’ve taken on a significantly larger financial risk to enable a significantly larger attendee base – that means YOU CAN MAKE IT IN if you register soon! As you know, the event, like PowerShell.org itself, is run as a not-for-profit; apart from trying to cover as many speaker expenses as possible, nobody gets paid for this event. That’s helped us keep the expense LOW. In addition, we’re really hoping to reach a larger audience, especially folks who are using PowerShell in production. You don’t need to be a die-hard PowerShell expert to get a LOT of value from the Summit – you just need to be die-hard about using PowerShell in production, or at least seriously on a path to making that happen. This year we’re adding a third content track to focus on “domain-specific” PowerShell use, and we’re hoping that’ll make us appealing to an even larger, more production-focused audience. We’re aiming to have content on SharePoint, Exchange, AD, SQL Server, System Center, Hyper-V, VMware (yup), you name it. Also, the Summit is an important point of engagement for the PowerShell product team, who not only wants to share under-the-hood product techniques with you, but also wants your feedback about how the product can be made better. There is NO better place to learn the hardcore details about PowerShell – the Summit is truly the community’s “deep dive” event. No matter what your skill level, you’ll take away new things, and you may even feel overwhelmed at times. Doesn’t matter! The response in 2013 was hugely positive, and even folks who said, “I left with my head spinning” told us that it felt GREAT! This is content you won’t find anywhere else: not at TechEd, not at independent conferences, NOWHERE. We’ve set up a small number of discounted registrations – all of the details are at http://powershell.org/wp/?p=9776. We even have discounted hotel room rates available for up to 100 attendees! And hey – even if you can’t make it, or aren’t yet sure, help us out. This event is a labor of love, run entirely by volunteers. There’s a certain amount of financial risk involved in putting on an event like this, and if we don’t break even we won’t be able to do it again. So anything you, as a member of the PowerShell community, can do to help raise awareness for the event would be hugely appreciated. Tell a friend. Tell colleagues. Tweet, Facebook, Google+, and LinkedIn about it. Shout it out! We’re certainly grateful!

See you at the Summit!
