PowerTip: Find the path to Exchange mailbox database


Summary:  Use Windows PowerShell to find the path to the Exchange mailbox databases.

Hey, Scripting Guy! Question How can I find the path to the Exchange mailbox database on my Exchange Server?

Hey, Scripting Guy! Answer Use the Get-MailboxDatabase cmdlet, and select the EdbFilePath property, as shown here.

Get-MailboxDatabase -Status | select edbfilepath

    Sorry, I wasn’t "signed in" when I commented on Vijay’s older question: Vijay – I also don’t know the answer, but, in fooling around with options, needing to "logfile path" also, as well as the DB path, I figured "… | select logfilepath" – but NO, it
    only shows ‘blank space;’ instead, for all "paths," I just tried: "get-mailboxdatabase -status | select *path" and, BAM! That gives all paths, but NOT "public folders." 🙁 So, ‘wildcard’ (asterisk) lets you query all the various paths, but still not "public
    folders." Ugh!
