Windows 8 Developer Event Follow Up from April 23, 2012 in Los Angeles – Configure Windows 8 Consumer Preview in Virtual Environment (Non-Microsoft)

On Monday, April 23, 2012, we held an awesome Windows 8 Developer Event in Los Angeles at Club Nokia in LA Live.  I was present at the event to assist where I could considering I am not a developer.  There were quite a few folks who brought their laptops with them but for whatever reason, could not install Windows 8 Consumer Preview on the bare metal.  Luckily, most of them were running Windows 7 as the host OS, so I was able to help get the folks up and running with Windows 8 Consumer Preview in a Virtual Machine using a 3rd party virtualization product (to host a 64 bit VM on Windows 7).  A few folks asked me to provide some directions after the fact on how to do this as well as how to copy files from the local host to the VM.  Rather than provide step by step written instructions, I created a quick screencast of me walking through the process.  I did use Virtual Box (just Bing it and you will find the download) as the 3rd party virtualization software.  I have embedded the video below.  Let me know if you have any questions.
