I am sure those of you who have downloaded and installed Windows Server “8” beta and have been using System Center 2012 Release Candidate realize that the two are not necessarily compatible. This does make a lot of sense considering System Center 2012 is just about to RTM and Windows Server “8” just made it to beta stage. The System Center team had to focus on making the 2012 Product top notch on the currently released Operating System – Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1.

For those of you who want to use Windows Server “8” beta with System Center 2012 Data Protection Manager and Virtual Machine Manager, I have some good news for you. I just saw this morning, that the System Center 2012 team released a CTP (Customer Technology Preview – otherwise known as “beta”) for these two components of System Center 2012 to work with and run on Windows Server “8” beta.

You can find the CTP downloads here: https://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=29099
