Here’s the Event Description straight from www.technetevents.com.

Did you know that virtualization is not a new idea?  It’s been around for decades.  Over the course of the last few years it has become the hottest topic in the Information Technology world.  Join us as we discuss the basics of Virtualization.  Where did it come from?  Why is it here? And where is it going?  We will build a working definition of Virtualization.  We will talk about the creation of the hypervisor, and the 2 types that have ensued since the original idea.  We will discuss the opportunities available in IT because of virtualization.  We will demonstrate virtualization usage scenarios ranging from the home user all the way to the largest multinational corporation.  Finally we will illustrate and discuss the ways in which Virtualization have given rise to the next generation of IT – “The Cloud.”

Cloud Base Virtualization Concepts

Our vision of software and services is changing because of virtualization.  We are doing more and more complicated tasks in the cloud while removing user complexity from the mix.  These service offerings offer immense opportunity to the IT organization.  Join us as we discuss the technical details of the Microsoft Cloud services offerings and how they may benefit your IT organization.  We will discuss Windows Azure, SQL Azure, Business Productivity Online Suite (BPOS), Windows Live, and Windows Phone 7.

3 Screens and the Cloud

Virtualization is hot!  The cloud is hotter!  Mobile computing is on fire!  Tie them all together and throw in Windows Phone7, XBOX360, Netflix, Last FM, and a host of other software and service offerings and you have the world’s largest and most forward thinking IT environment.  Join us as we talk about how the integration of the TV, the PC, and the Mobile device will forever change the way we think about IT, and more importantly the way we interact with our friends, family, co-workers, and just about everybody else.
